Why Choose WEX Motorpass?
When it comes to true multi-branded fuel cards, WEX Motorpass Fuel Card is one of Australia’s biggest providers. They have designed their offering to target businesses that enjoy card flexibility over the small pump discounts competitors with a range of great features.
What’s good about WEX Motorpass is the fact it can be used at 93% of fuel stations around Australia (that’s over 6,000 locations). In terms of fuel discount, you can nab a 1c/L discount on all fuel across the entire network (only for 50L or more), which while not a lot, if you have a big fleet it does eventually add up.
In terms of card fees, it’s $5 per card + GST (1-5 cards) paid monthly, with discounts for additional cards. It is higher than other fuel card providers, but you get the benefit of convenience and being able to fill up anywhere. Meanwhile, there is also a $0.50 transaction fee (2% surcharge when used at Coles Express) when filling up.
Another reason you might choose WEX is its large list of perks and discount partners. WEX has a good benefit structure from discounts on fuel purchase to deals on tyres, batteries, servicing and even accommodation.
WEX Motorpass customers suggest there are some customer support issues, and confusion around promotional offerings and fuel discounts and savings. But WEX has been upfront about their additional fees lately, with everything outlined on their website.
